A week away from teaching and textiles (almost). I haven’t been on holiday just helping
my children with their DIY projects. A lot of sanding, painting, clearing gardens etc.
No kitchen, and dust everywhere!
I did manage to go to an exhibition – The Beautiful Stitch in Aylesbury. A fabulous exhibition and it was so good to see so many of the embroideries I have admired over the years. There are ethnic pieces in the collection as well as pieces from Winsome Douglas Margaret Nicolson etc. It is well worth visiting.
When I asked about an accompanying book, leaflet etc – nothing. Not even a leaflet about how to join the Embroiderer’s guild. Disappointing.
Back home and I have stitched a couple more pieces ready for just colouring in. I needed a project that I could do without a machine and minimum mess
The top one is side ways – I’m hoping in a couple of weeks time it will be full of colour
