If you have sent me an email in the last week and I haven’t replied it’s not surprising as I have been non stop for the few weeks.
I taught for 2 days at The Bramble Patch, always a good place to teach at, lovely students and I always enjoy staying with Carole and Geoff.
Here are just a few of the students work from one of the classes
Then another 2 days at Institches in Eversley in Berkshire / Hampshire. Another good couple of days.
Here is one of my quilts
and here are some of the students work in progress
I got up at 5 to drive home so that I could do the shopping tidy up etc before I had lots of quilters to stay for the weekend.
We were blessed with such beautiful weather – Yorkshire looked fabulous. They went to Saltaire on Friday afternoon to see Salts Mill and the Hockney exhibition, and we all met up for a meal at the Old Bridge Inn in Ripponden.
On Saturday we all went to the Quilt Cabin in Hebden Bridge where I organised a tie dying workshop (mock Indigo)
Here are some photos of Heptonstall
We had dinner in the Olive Branch in Sowerby Bridge – superb service and good food.
On Sunday I cooked shashuka for everyone, followed by a slide show of my Guatemalan photos, we were supposed to be in my studio but with such sunny weather we sat outside and hand stitched Guatemalan style embroidery
A fun weekend, now I am spending all day at my computer catching up on the admin I haven’t had time to do in the last few weeks, and when I have done all that I am going to try to finish and make a few quilts.
What was it someone asked me last week “Do you sew every day?” Can’t remember when I last had a day in my studio. Now I need it to rain every day to keep me in there!
Anyone interested in a retreat in Cornwall? I will be teaching for craftyretreats in March of next year a new course “Sardines”
Here is just one of my Sardines quilts
Looking forward to a week in Cornwall.
I still have spaces on one of the ones I organise in Matlock first week in December – must get organised and put it on my website. If we have a week of poor weather I might get it on, otherwise send me an email
I’ve finally sorted out posting a number of kits off – the postage rates have gone up – more admin!
